The idea of the Social Housing (Academic Village) is the logical outcome of the Partner's initiative in making Cape Coast, the capital city of central region, Ghana a model of excellence that will accommodate 10,000 students in a furnished apartments, provide cafeteria system for the over 20,000 students, provide hotel accommodation with first class conference room for academics and researchers from all over the world, meet in small groups of 50 to 200, to exchange views and discuss the results of their research in line with Coastal Network Consortium and its partners development projects that supports national economy.
This is more so because government of Ghana is divesting itself from numerous educational expenses, calling for a diversification of the traditional methods of organizing education to include strategic stakeholders who should have the right to participate in crucial decisions affecting financing, relevance, access, quality, management and governance, and international cooperation for the mutual benefits of all.
The Academic village will provide facilities which includes;

- Innovative Research Center
- 500 Seat Conference Hall
- Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Centre
- Student services, support and special program
- Cafeteria System that will attract over 20,000 people
- Structured parking facilities
- A community center for social, cultural, and academic interaction.
